I tried to find the pair of Smith Optics sunglasses or Maui Jim and I find nothing that fits the face. I tend to buy and then lose in a few months. Costs 150. 00 per pair is rapidly aging. It took two pairs of polarized sunglasses Calcutta, and executives share a little plasticy feel, that looks good for moi.Ce want to know, are offering the same UV protection as expensive glasses offer? If so, I said Heck, but 5 pairs, and not worry about losing all the time. But seriously, if they offer the same UV protection, are the other benefits of high quality lenses?
Is there any difference between cheap sun glasses and expensive sun glasses?

Honestly most of the time you are just paying for the name. If on the lens it has a sticker that states that it it uva and uvb protected then your good to go. As i said all your paying for is the name.
The more expensive glasses will also have optical quality lenses that will be distortion free.
A lot of the cheapos will have enough distortion in the lenses to cause your eyes to get tired faster , although a lot of them aren’t too bad at all.
The UV protection is the same though.
The more expensive ones also have a much higher quality frame too of course, so it isn’t ” just the name ” you are paying for.
To be honest, a few years ago I would have said it wasn’t worth it to spend $300 on sunglasses…but then I bought a pair of Maui Jim’s and OMG I am in love. I could never go back to something cheap now, they just work so much better! Even the guy at the sunglass place said it’s next to impossible to go to any other brand after wearing Maui Jim’s, they’re just so good! I wear a cheaper pair of Smith’s for work (I work outdoors) and they’re okay, but nothing beats my Mau Jim Lagoons!
The UV protection will probably be about the same (even super cheap brands have good UV protection), it’s a question of clarity and more high end polarization. I have no eye-strain whatsoever after wearing my Maui Jim’s. I guess it’s up to personal preference, if the Calcutta’s are enough for you, then that’s good, I just have expensive taste lol =)
